Inventory Officer

Full Time | Ongoing Position

Classification GO3 ($84,087.57 + Superannuation)

 

We have an ongoing opportunity for a suitably qualified Inventory Officer to join our Asset Operations team.

 

About the Role

 

This hands-on position is responsible for the daily coordination of Council’s central store, including sourcing, ordering, receipting, dispatching, and maintaining stock levels.

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the efficient procurement and distribution of goods and materials across Council.
  • Operating Technology One (purchasing module) to manage purchase orders, stock levels and cataloguing.
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and facilitating regular stocktakes including administrative data entry to develop reporting metrics.
  • Monitoring the central Store mailbox, liaising and corresponding with suppliers, and supporting internal stakeholder enquiries and request.
  • Supporting stock recycling, courier management, and warehouse housekeeping.
  • Ensuring safe handling, unloading, and storage of goods.

About You

 

You’re someone who enjoys structured work, thrives on keeping systems and processes running smoothly, and takes pride in supporting others. With a strong customer focus and attention to detail, you’re ready to take ownership of this vital support role.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in inventory or warehousing operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory platforms (preferably Technology One) and Microsoft Office.
  • Well-developed administration skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A current (unrestricted) driver’s licence.
  • Forklift Licence and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Qualifications in Warehousing Operations or similar is desirable, but not essential.

Incumbents in this position will be required to possess or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance.  Satisfactory completion of a Pre-employment medical and functional capacity Assessment (including Drug & Alcohol Screen) will also be a mandatory requirement.
