Whether it’s for an energetic game at our award-winning facilities like the Playford Tennis Centre, or a relaxing meet-up at one of Australia’s largest undercover bowls venues, our community is passionate about sports of all kinds, and as one of the fastest growing councils in South Australia, we’re committed to ensuring they have first-class facilities to keep doing what they love.   We’re looking for an experienced Sport Development Officer who lives and breathes sport, both on and off the field, to help us work with local sporting clubs on the development of their strategic plans, committee structures, and utilisation of club facilities. Because you understand sport, you’ll use your experience to help them to improve the way that they attract and retain their members.   This position will also give you the opportunity to work with commercial sporting venues such as the Aquadome and the Adelaide United Training Centre, to ensure that management agreements and commercial leases are fit for purpose.   In this role, you will: - Support local sporting clubs with advice, training, and practical help to strive towards best practice in club operations and governance.
 - Build relationships with volunteers, peak sporting bodies, other local councils, and state agencies to help deliver great sport and recreation opportunities.
 - Collaborate with other City of Playford teams to work towards better outcomes for clubs.
 - Ensure our facilities are well-used, well-run, and accessible to everyone.
 - Collect and share participation data to inform club strategies and infrastructure upgrades
 
 You’ll bring: - Tertiary qualification in sport and/or recreation management, or equivalent, relevant experience.
 - Knowledge and experience in community sport, club governance or facility operations.
 - Good communication and organisational skills, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
 - A passion for sport and the benefits it brings to community life.
