The Role: Senior Development Officer - Planning We are looking for a Senior Development Officer to join our Planning Services team within our Development Services unit. The successful candidate will primarily focus on providing specialist technical advice on complex built-form and land division development applications and act as a senior point of contact for all matters that relate to planning assessments, coaching a team of Development Officers. What you’ll be doing π - Provide expert advice with a key focus on complex development applications
- Collaborate across departments within the City of Playford, to problem solve and make key decisions on growth and planning
- Provide mentoring and training to Development Services and Planning team members
- Develop key Planning policies and guidelines, as well as contribute to committees, bodies and the Council Assessment Panel
- Observe, comply, and promote safe work health and safety practices, across the Council, community, and customers
What you’ll bring to our team π The successful applicant will be tertiary qualified in Urban & Regional Planning and hold full membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). In addition, you will have: - A comprehensive knowledge of the Development Act 1993, Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016, and associated legislation
- A working knowledge of complex development applications
- Experience in preparing legal briefs and instructions
- Effective time management, negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills including report writing
