Full Time | Ongoing Salary starting from $100,490 + Superannuation The City of Playford is looking for a creative, community-minded and future-focused professional to shape and share the stories that connect our communities across Playford. As our History and Identity Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and delivery of contemporary history and arts initiatives, community storytelling, exhibitions, activations and partnerships that celebrate Playford’s shared history, strengthen civic pride and support intergenerational connections. Through this work, you’ll contribute to building connection to place, amplifying diverse voices and creating meaningful experiences that bring communities together. About You You understand the role that history and arts play in shaping connected, vibrant communities, and you know how to translate ideas into engaging programs, partnerships and meaningful community outcomes. You recognise the power of stories to strengthen identity, foster belonging and connect community. Bringing a contemporary approach to history, arts and community engagement, you create experiences that are inclusive, engaging and meaningful for diverse audiences. You’ll thrive in this role if you: - Have experience developing and delivering history, heritage, cultural or community-based programs and initiatives
- Can build genuine relationships and partnerships across diverse communities and stakeholders
- Have experience managing collections, archives or cultural assets
- Think creatively and strategically about community engagement and placemaking
- Are confident working across projects, partnerships and cross-functional teams
- Bring strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Enjoy working in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment
What you will get to do In this role, you will contribute to how Playford’s stories are shared, celebrated and experienced across the community. Working across history and arts, you’ll deliver initiatives that strengthen connection and create meaningful opportunities for our community. You will: - Develop and deliver engaging history programs, exhibitions, activations and storytelling initiatives
- Create opportunities for community connection through partnerships, events and community-led experiences
- Manage and grow Playford’s history collection as an accessible and valued community resource
- Build strong relationships with community groups, cultural organisations, education providers, and other key stakeholders
- Support inclusive storytelling that reflects the diverse voices, histories and experiences of the community
- Provide advice and input into arts, heritage, placemaking and community initiatives across Council
- Contribute to a connected and contemporary approach to history and arts development that supports creativity, tourism, activation and community identity
- Identify emerging trends, opportunities and innovative approaches that enhance participation, accessibility and community impact
