About the Role and Your Team 

 

As our Senior Manager City Planning, you’ll report to the General Manager Corporate Services and work closely with the Executive Team to tackle high-impact strategic and operational challenges. You will play a pivotal role in leading and executing city and corporate planning strategies that drive Playford’s growth. This is a chance to lead transformative projects that will shape the future of our city and influence key decision-making processes.

 

You’ll be a trusted advisor, ensuring alignment between strategic plans and the city’s evolving needs, while working with a dynamic team to implement effective and forward-thinking solutions. 

 

About You

 

To thrive in this role, you will leverage your expertise in city planning, leadership, and stakeholder engagement. You will: 

  • Be the face of city planning at the City of Playford, one of the fastest-growing councils in South Australia. Being ‘the face’ means you’ll interact with Executive and Elected Member’s and other key stakeholders on city planning matters. 
  • Lead the development of comprehensive city-wide strategies and masterplans for key precincts and guiding major projects. You’ll ensure city infrastructure is optimised to support the growing needs of Playford. 
  • Bring a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach to shaping Playford’s future as South Australia’s next major regional centre. 
  • Create and deliver key corporate plans and reports including Annual Business Plans and Strategic Plans ensuring alignment with Executive and Elected Members' objectives, while meeting legislative requirements. 
  • Be a forward-thinker who can identify opportunities for improvement and inspire your team to innovate and solve problems. 
  • Leverage your communication and influencing skills to translate complex strategies into actionable plans that deliver real results.

This is a full-time, 5-year fixed- term contract. We offer a competitive remuneration package, including:
