We’re on the lookout for a passionate Stormwater Planner ready to make a real impact, someone who thrives on connection, collaboration, and delivering meaningful outcomes for our diverse and dynamic community.

What you'll do

The Stormwater Planner is responsible for facilitating the development of stormwater infrastructure across the City of Playford through the provision of specialist advice to the organisation, development and management of stormwater plans and reports, project management and maintaining strategic partnerships.

As the Stormwater Planner, you’ll lead the development and delivery of best-practice stormwater infrastructure planning. You will: 

• Provide expert advice on stormwater planning across the organisation
• Develop and maintain stormwater infrastructure plans, policies and reports
• Represent Council in external forums and build strategic partnerships with government, developers and industry
• Manage stormwater projects in line with Council’s Project Management Framework, including budgeting, concept planning and funding applications
• Prepare clear and effective Council reports and present to committees and Elected Members
• Provide high-quality customer service and specialist advice regarding stormwater issues
• Ensure compliance with risk management, WHS, and other Council policies and procedures 

What you’ll bring 

• Experience in stormwater planning and modelling
• Understanding of the stormwater management principles for delivery of strategic outcomes and infrastructure
• Knowledge of Council's stormwater legislative requirements
• Strong ability to undertake investigations into stormwater issues at local and regional levels
• Practical experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of projects
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work and negotiate with a range of stakeholders
• Practical experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of projects
• Self-motivated with a high attention to detail
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related field (highly desirable) 

Incumbents in this position must be willing to gain and possess a satisfactory National Criminal History Clearance.
