Join the City of Playford’s Operations team and help keep our roads running smoothly. We offer reliable ongoing work with flexible hours. As one of the fastest-growing council areas in South Australia, the City of Playford is focused on building sustainable foundations and places the community at the heart of everything we do. With our urban centre as the CBD of Northern Adelaide, our city is enriched by growing and diverse communities in new and established suburbs, rural and hills townships, and horticultural lands. About the Role In this role, you’ll be handling minor road repairs and maintenance across sealed and unsealed roads, using equipment like the FLOCON for pothole and patching work. You also may be called upon to assist with stormwater maintenance, cleaning pipes and open drains, and to assist with installing and maintaining road signage and pavement markings. Supporting your team on site will be key, jumping in wherever needed to make sure the job is done safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. About You You’ll need to have a current HR (Heavy Rigid) licence and Front-End Loader ticket to get started, experience or qualifications in civil construction or road maintenance, or a strong willingness to learn on the job. If you’ve worked with excavators, backhoes, or other machinery before, that’s a bonus, but we’re happy to support you if you’re keen to develop these skills. Above all, safety is non-negotiable, so you need to be reliable, follow work health and safety guidelines, and be a team player. Incumbents in these positions will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical and functional assessment (including drug & alcohol screen) as well as undertaking a National Criminal History Clearance or DCSI Clearance. Why work with us? - Ongoing, full-time work with a great mix of stability and flexibility to help balance life outside work
- Competitive pay with superannuation and employee benefits, including free income protection and journey insurance
