About the Role The Manager - Finance is responsible for overseeing the finance and payroll functions for the City of Playford by managing financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, reporting, compliance and cash management and payroll. The Manager - Finance leads, supervises and mentors the Finance and Payroll staff to deliver effective and efficient finance outcomes for the City of Playford, whilst promoting a culture of accountability, financial discipline and continuous improvement. The Manager - Finance is also responsible for managing and strengthening internal financial controls and financial risk management processes. Key Responsibilities Include: - Provide effective leadership to the Finance and Payroll teams in their day-to-day functions, including training, mentoring and coaching of staff.
- Effectively allocate work across the Finance and Payroll teams to ensure that high-quality outcomes are achieved in accordance with internal and legislative timeframes.
- Deliver customer-centric services, driving continuous improvement in financial performance and resource use, and building financial capability.
- Manage the Annual Budget, Budget Reviews, and Forecasts, ensuring they are delivered within legislative timeframes.
- Support the financial components of the Annual Business Plan.
- Produce and present accurate reports, presentations, and analyses for management, and external stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and consistent data and financial advice to support the organisation in financial decision-making.
- Deliver compliant Annual Financial Statements in accordance with legislative time frames.
- Implement regular financial performance reporting and advise management on key performance outcomes against agreed metrics.
- Oversee the day-to-day treasury function for the organisation.

About You We are looking for a strategic and collaborative Finance Manager who can provide trusted advice and drive strong financial management outcomes across the organisation. You will ideally possess: - Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and develop staff across a diverse finance service delivery climate, to achieve high quality outputs and superior service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior executive and non-financial stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes.
- Strong financial management and business advisory experience, with ability to provide clear insights to support decision making.
- Demonstrated high-level clear communication, influencing, interpersonal and presentation skills, together with resilience and persistence in conducting negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information for effective decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities work with agility and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- CA/CPA qualifications are desirable.
