Our verge mowing team plays a vital role in keeping Playford’s streets, reserves and open spaces safe, tidy and welcoming. We’re looking for someone who not only has (or is willing to gain) the right skills, but who will positively contribute to team culture and take ownership of their work.

About the role

As a Verge Mower with City Operations, you’ll support the delivery of Council’s seasonal verge, reserve and open space mowing programs.

Your day-to-day work will include operating front deck mowers and associated equipment, supporting verge mowing rotations, and carrying out routine plant checks and maintenance. You’ll work as part of a supportive team, helping identify hazards, asset damage or areas needing follow up, and ensuring public spaces are presented to a high standard.

This is an active, outdoor role where reliability, safe work practices and teamwork are just as important as technical skills. There may also be opportunities to rotate across City Operations teams when required to support peak workloads or absences.

About you

You enjoy practical, hands-on work and take pride in seeing the results of your efforts out in the community.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience operating mowing plant and equipment, along with a current MR driver’s licence. If you’ve worked in verge mowing, parks maintenance or a similar outdoor role, that’s great – but just as important is your attitude and willingness to learn.
