Why this role matters

As a Risk Specialist, you will support the ongoing implementation and continuous improvement of Council's Integrated Risk Management Framework and Crisis Management Response Framework. Working across a diverse organisation, you will partner with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen risk awareness, improve organisational capability, and support preparedness for emerging challenges and critical incidents.

The Opportunity

• Support the implementation, development and review of Council’s Integrated Risk Management Framework and Crisis Management Response Framework
• Provide practical advice and support on risk management and crisis management matters
• Deliver key risk and crisis management activities in line with legislative requirements and organisational priorities
• Develop resources, training and guidance to build risk capability across the organisation
• Prepare quality reports, correspondence and documentation for management, Council and relevant committees
• Build strong partnerships to ensure risk management practices remain fit for purpose and support organisational goals

Who you are

• Experience in risk management, governance, compliance, crisis management or a related discipline
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
• The ability to navigate complexity with sound judgement and professionalism
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in a related field
