What you will get to do

  • Undertake building inspections to ensure compliance with Building Rules
  • Provide expert technical advice to residents, builders, developers and internal stakeholders
  • Investigate building compliance matters and support enforcement activities where required
  • Review plans, specifications and technical documentation
  • Contribute to a safe, high-quality and sustainable built environment across our growing city
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a high performing team

Who you are

 

You are an experienced building professional who enjoys balancing technical expertise with customer service. You bring strong knowledge of building legislation, construction practices and compliance requirements, and you’re confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.

 

You will bring:

  • Accreditation as a Building Professional Level 3 or 4, or ability to obtain Level 4 accreditation through extensive building supervision experience
  • Experience undertaking residential building inspections
  • A strong understanding of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act, National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities
  • A commitment to delivering quality outcomes for the community
