This newly created specialist role will work across a broad operational portfolio including parks and gardens, verges and reserves, sporting facilities, biodiversity, civil infrastructure, trees and City amenity & response, helping drive service planning, maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives across City Operations. About the Role Reporting to the Senior Manager City Operations, the City Operations Specialist provides strategic advice and support on service planning, maintenance programs, operational performance and future growth. Working closely with City Operations leaders and key stakeholders across Council, you'll analyse operational, financial, asset and customer data to identify trends, risks and opportunities that support informed decision-making and service improvement. You'll play a key role in reviewing services, developing maintenance strategies, planning for new assets and growth areas, and ensuring operational services are aligned with community expectations, organisational priorities and long-term sustainability objectives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning information into action, influencing outcomes through collaboration, and helping organisations continuously improve how they work. About You You are naturally curious, analytical and solutions focused. You enjoy understanding how services operate identifying opportunities for improvement and working with stakeholders to develop practical solutions. You’re comfortable working across operational, financial and asset-related information, you're able to transform complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations. You build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and bring a solutions‑focused mindset to improving how services are planned and delivered. You will ideally bring: - Experience in service planning, operational planning, maintenance planning, asset management or continuous improvement
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights
- Experience preparing reports, business cases and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Sound understanding of budgeting, forecasting and resource planning
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to influence positive change across teams
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a complex environment
