Full Time | Ongoing

Salary $74,607 - $81,200 + Superannuation

If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in maintaining community spaces, and want to help create safe and welcoming places for families to enjoy, this could be the role for you.

Our playground maintenance role plays an important role in ensuring playgrounds, exercise equipment and park infrastructure across the City of Playford remain safe, compliant and presented to a high standard. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes ownership of what they do, and contributes positively to team culture.

About the role

As a Team Member - Parks & Gardens - Playgrounds, you'll support the inspection, maintenance and repair of Council-owned playgrounds, fitness equipment and associated park infrastructure across our growing city.

Your day-to-day work will include inspecting playground equipment, identifying and responding to hazards, undertaking minor repairs, maintaining softfall surfaces, and helping ensure assets meet relevant safety standards.

You'll also contribute to the presentation of parks and playgrounds through activities such as vegetation maintenance, litter collection, graffiti removal and general cleaning.

About you

You enjoy practical, outdoor work and take pride in delivering quality outcomes that make a visible difference in the community.

Ideally, you'll bring experience in playground maintenance, horticulture, parks maintenance, landscaping, civil construction, or a similar field. Experience inspecting or maintaining playground equipment would be advantageous, but just as important is your willingness to learn and develop specialist skills in this area.

Qualifications relevant to playground inspection and maintenance, such as AHCPGD212 Perform Routine Inspection and Maintenance of Playgrounds and Park Facilities and/or AHCPGD311 Conduct Detailed Safety Inspections of Playgrounds and Park Facilities, will be well regarded. Applicants who do not currently hold these qualifications but are willing to undertake training are encouraged to apply.

You're someone who:

  • Values working safely and looking out for your teammates
  • Takes initiative and responds proactively to maintenance and safety issues
  • Enjoys working outdoors across a variety of locations and conditions
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to workplace culture
  • Takes pride in presenting parks, playgrounds and community spaces to a high standard
  • Is committed to providing great service to the community
  • Holds a Class C drivers licence

What we offer

  • Ongoing, full-time work with a great mix of stability and flexibility to help balance life outside work
  • Competitive pay with superannuation and employee benefits, including free income protection and journey insurance
  • Opportunities for training and professional development to grow your skills over time
  • Supportive team environment where your work genuinely makes a difference to the local community
